The presentations focus on awareness and knowledge translation of risk factors as well as prevention and management strategies for specific topics associated with social media and (cyber)bullying. Presentation Request
To schedule a presentation, please fill out the presentation request form. When you submit your form, you will receive a confirmation e-mail after which Youth Diversion staff will assess your details and contact you within two business days to discuss the necessary arrangements. Abstinence from the Internet is not an option but we can educate youth to practice safe social media. By understanding how young people use the Internet, the risks they face and the strategies to manage those risks, we can help enable youth to safely navigate their digital lives.

- Recognize that any information posted online can help or hurt future opportunities (college admission, employment, etc.).
- Create a vignette that shows how a positive digital footprint can help someone take advantage of an opportunity.

Online conversations can be awkward and sometimes even risky – with downsides ranging from simple misunderstandings to manipulation or inappropriate messages. Help young people navigate and avoid these situations before they go too far.

Digital Footprint

Our digital footprints can have a powerful impact on our future. This can be a scary thought, given that what's in our digital footprint isn't always in our control. Teach students that digital footprints are an opportunity to showcase their best selves and craft a footprint that leads to future success.

Responding to Online Hate • Online Hate
Beyond Bullying explores the difference between bullying and normal peer conflict. Different forms of bullying (physical, verbal, social, and cyber bullying) are explored as well as legal consequences and the far reaching impact that bullying can have. It covers a newer form of bullying referred to as 'roasting', labels, stereotypes, bystanders, and empathy. The goal of this e-presentation is to educate youth to use alternative methods to resolve problems by providing techniques for standing up to bullies as well as what to do if students witness bullying.
